Nishikant Kamat (1970 – 2020) was an Indian film director and actor. He primarily worked in Hindi and Marathi cinema.
He made his directorial debut with the 2004 Marathi film, <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Dombivli%20Fast">Dombivli Fast</a>. This film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. Kamat then directed Hindi films like <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Mumbai%20Meri%20Jaan">Mumbai Meri Jaan</a> (2008), based on the 2006 Mumbai train bombings. He also directed the action thriller <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Force">Force</a> (2011), starring John Abraham.
His other notable Hindi films include <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Drishyam">Drishyam</a> (2015), a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, and <a href="https://www.wikiwhat.page/kavramlar/Madaari">Madaari</a> (2016), starring Irrfan Khan. As an actor, he was seen in films such as "Rocky Handsome" which he also directed, and "Bhavesh Joshi Superhero".
Nishikant Kamat passed away in August 2020 due to liver cirrhosis.
